Second-Round Notes

Gary Woodland and Charley Hoffman shot an 8-under 64 in modified alternate-shot play Saturday for a share of the lead in the QBE Shootout.

Woodland and Hoffman birdied the final three holes to match the teams of Emiliano Grillo-Graeme McDowell and Brian Harman-Patton Kizzire at 19-under 125, with a better-ball round left at Tiburon Golf Club.

Grillo-McDowell and Harman-Kizzire, tied for lead with Bryson DeChambeau and Kevin Na at 59 after the first-round scramble, each shot 66. Na and DeChambeau were a stroke back after a 67.

First-Round Notes

The teams of Bryson DeChambeau-Kevin Na, Brian Harman-Patton Kizzire and Emiliano Grillo-Graeme McDowell shot 13-under 59 in scramble play Friday to share the first-round lead in the QBE Shootout.

Harman-Kizzire and Grillo-McDowell birdied the final three holes at Tiburón Golf Club, and DeChambeau and Na eagled the par-5 14th. LPGA Tour player Lexi Thompson and Tony Finau were two strokes back at 61 with Charley Hoffman-Gary Woodland and Charles Howell III-Luke List. Defending champions Steve Stricker and Sean' O'Hair shot 62.

Tournament Notes

For the 18th consecutive year, the QBE Shootout comes to Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples and 24 individuals will compete as 12 two-person teams. The event is celebrating its 30th year on the PGA TOUR calendar.

The tournament is the longest running PGA TOUR-sanctioned post-season event.

Here are some notes regarding what has become a favorite annual gathering for professionals, amateurs and fans.

Davis Love III Withdraws and is Replaced by Brian Harman

Davis Love III has withdrawn from this week’s QBE Shootout and will be replaced by Brian Harman, who will be paired with Patton Kizzire.

Love’s mother has been in the critical care unit at the Brunswick, GA hospital the last week and is currently in stable condition.

This will be Harman’s second appearance in the QBE Shootout. Last year, he and Pat Perez finished third.

Darius Rucker & Charles Kelley Headline Pro-Am Field

The list of celebrities participating in the QBE Shootout Pro-Am competition has grown this year and includes country music stars Darius Rucker and Charles Kelley as well as sports announcer Chris Berman and Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier.

These four, along with an incredible lineup of professionals including Tournament Host Greg Norman, will join other amateurs and compete in the two-day competition Wednesday and Thursday as the opening act for next week’s QBE Shootout at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.

Lexi Thompson and Charles Howell III Weekend Winners; Cameron Champ to replace Kevin Chappell

It has been a successful month for several players scheduled to compete in the 2018 QBE Shootout, including a double-celebration on Sunday at the LPGA’s CME Group Tour Championship and PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic.

Lexi Thompson won the LPGA's season-ending event in Naples by four strokes on Sunday marking the sixth consecutive year that Thompson has won at least once. In Sea Island, Georgia, Charles Howell III won for the first time in 11 years with a playoff victory and moved to #1 in the FedEx Cup standings.

Twelve Teams Announced for QBE Shootout

Tournament Host Greg Norman announced today two additional player commitments and the 12 two-person teams for the QBE Shootout which returns December 5 – 9 to Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.

The 24-person field features 12 of the top 50 ranked players in the world who have amassed 13 victories in the past year. Four past champions, including one winning team, are also in the field and six players will be competing in the $3.4 million event for the first time.

Player Commitments Announced

Tournament host Greg Norman announced today 22 players currently committed to compete in the 2018 QBE Shootout. The tournament will be held December 5-9 and will celebrate its 30-year anniversary as the PGA TOUR returns to Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort for the 18th year.

Twelve of the top 50 players in the world will comprise this year’s field which includes a third consecutive appearance by Lexi Thompson, the highest ranked American player on the LPGA, as well as defending champions Sean O’Hair and Steve Stricker, a three-time winner in just seven starts on the PGA TOUR Champions this season.

Tickets on Sale for 30th Anniversary Tournament

Tournament officials announced today that tickets for the 30th Anniversary QBE Shootout are now on sale. Ticket options start at $30 per person as Naples’ only PGA TOUR event returns to Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, December 5 - 9.

Opportunities to enhance your experience are available by upgrading to the Naples Beach Brew House or the Greg Norman Estates Shark Club. The Brew House, located between the 8th & 17th greens, starting at $90 per day will feature a variety of complimentary craft beers from Naples Beach Brewery plus food selections from the Boston Beer Garden. The Shark Club, located on the 18th green, starts at $300 per day and includes complimentary breakfast, lunch, snacks and full open bar.
