Final-Round Notes

Rory Sabbatini and Kevin Tway won the QBE Shootout on Sunday, birdieing the final two holes in best-ball play for a 12-under 60 and a two-stroke victory. Part of a five-way tie for the second-round lead, Sabbatini and Tway finished at 31-under 185 in the three-day event at Tiburón Golf Club. Jason Kokrak and J.T. Poston were second after a 62.

Second-Round Notes

Brendon Todd and Billy Horschel shot a 6-under 66 in modified alternate shot Saturday for a share of the second round lead on the QBE Shootout.

Rory Sabbatini-Kevin Tway (67), Harold Varner III-Ryan Palmer (70), Jason Kokrak-J.T. Poston (68) and Charles Howell III-Bubba Watson (66) also were 19 under. Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell (65) were a stroke back. The tournament will close Sunday with a best-ball round.

First-Round Notes

Harold Varner III and Ryan Palmer shot a 17-under 55 on Friday in the QBE Shootout to match the scramble record since the event moved to Tiburón Golf Club in 2001.

Varner and Palmer eagled the par-5 17th and had 15 birdies and two pars in the first round. They tied the scramble record set by Greg Norman and Steve Elkington in 2005 and matched by Jason Day and Cameron Tringale in 2014.

Jason Kokrak and J.T. Poston were two strokes back after a 57. The teams will play a modified alternate shot Saturday and close with best-ball on Sunday.

NAPLES, Fla. (December 8, 2019) – For the 19th consecutive year, the QBE Shootout comes to Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples and 24 individuals will compete as 12 two-person teams. The event is celebrating its 31st year on the PGA TOUR calendar. The tournament is the longest running PGA TOUR-sanctioned post-season event. Here are some notes regarding what has become a favorite, annual gathering for professionals, amateurs and fans.

Brandt Snedeker Withdraws and is Replaced by FedEx Cup Leader Brendon Todd

NAPLES, FL. (December 5, 2019) – Brandt Snedeker has withdrawn from next week’s QBE Shootout due to a minor injury to his left ring finger and will be replaced by Brendon Todd, who will be paired with Billy Horschel.

This will be Todd’s first appearance in the QBE Shootout. He is one of nine players in the field for the first time. Todd is arguably the hottest player in golf, finishing 1st, 1st and 4th in his last three events. With 11 events complete in the 2019-2020 PGA TOUR season, Todd is currently 1st in the FedEx Cup standings.

Pro-Am Celebrities, Family Activities, Live Fest Concert and Fitness Add to the Anticipation for Next Week’s QBE Shootout

NAPLES, FL. (December 4, 2019) – The list of celebrities participating in the QBE Shootout Pro-Am competition includes the return of country music stars Darius Rucker and Charles Kelley as well as sports announcer Chris Berman and Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier.

These four, along with an incredible lineup of professionals, will join other amateurs and compete in the two-day competition Wednesday and Thursday as the opening act for next week’s QBE Shootout at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.

Twelve Teams Announced for QBE Shootout

NAPLES, Fla. (November 12, 2019) – Tournament Host Greg Norman announced today ten additional player commitments and the 12 two-person teams for the QBE Shootout which returns December 11-15 to Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.

The 24-person field features nine players who won during this past season and a total of 80 career PGA TOUR and LPGA victories as well as eight of the top 50 players in the world. There are also eight first-time participants in the annual event.

QBE Extends Title Sponsorship Through 2022

NAPLES, Fla. (October 29, 2019) – Tournament host Greg Norman announced today that QBE North America has extended its title sponsorship through 2022. An integrated specialist insurer, QBE has been the title sponsor since 2017 and the event has seen significant growth during such time. In addition, the QBE Shootout has renewed agreements with both Tiburon Golf Club and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort for the next three years.

Tournament officials also announced today 14 players currently committed to compete in the 2019 Shootout. This year’s tournament will be held December 11 – 15 as the PGA TOUR returns to Tiburon Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort for the 19th year.

Jordan Davis to Perform at the Inaugural Live Fest

NAPLES, FL. (September 9, 2019) – Event officials are excited to announce that Country Music Star Jordan Davis will perform at Live Fest scheduled for Saturday, December 14th at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.

Jordan Davis, Billboard’s Top New Country Artist of 2018, will join Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker for the inaugural outdoor concert on the Tiburón driving range. The premier music experience will start following the second round of the QBE Shootout at 4:00 p.m. and conclude at 10:00 p.m.
