Sahith Theegala made a 15-foot birdie putt on the final hole Sunday as he and Tom Hoge closed with a 10-under 62 in Four-ball and became the first rookie team to win the QBE Shootout in 11 years.
Ryan Palmer and Charley Hoffman each missed birdie putts from about 12 feet at Tiburon Golf Club that would have forced a playoff. They had a 65.
Theegala was coming off a strong PGA TOUR rookie season in which he reached the TOUR Championship and twice had chances to win going to the final hole of tournaments.
Charley Hoffman and Ryan Palmer had 10 birdies in modified alternate shot Saturday for a 10-under 62, setting the 36-hole record in the QBE Shootout and taking a two-shot lead into the final day. Teammates for the first time, Hoffman and Palmer were at 26-under 118. That broke the record by one shot previously shared by Harris English and Matt Kuchar in 2020 and Jason Day and Cameron Tringale in 2014.
Hoffman and Palmer led by two shots over Tom Hoge and Sahith Theegala, both playing the event for the first time. They combined for a 60 at Tiburón Golf Club.
Charley Hoffman and Ryan Palmer are making their 10th appearance in the QBE Shootout. Friday was their first time as partners, and they posted a 16-under 56 in a scramble format for a two-shot lead.
Two pairs of Presidents Cup teammates -- Max Homa and Kevin Kisner for the U.S Team., Corey Conners and K.H. Lee for the International Team -- were at 58.
NAPLES, Fla. (December 6, 2022) – For the 22nd consecutive year, the QBE Shootout comes to The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón and 24 individuals will compete as 12 two-person teams. The event is celebrating its 34th year on the PGA TOUR calendar.
There are five players, among the 22 PGA TOUR players in the field this week, who are among the top 30 in the world rankings and there are ten players in the top 50. These players include Max Homa (16), Cameron Young (17), Billy Horschel (18), Brian Harman (23), Sepp Straka (27). On the Rolex Rankings, Nelly Korda is No. 2 and Lexi Thompson is No. 7.

The 34th edition of the QBE Shootout and 22nd in Naples will feature 10 new teams competing for the $3.8 million purse.
NAPLES, FL. (November 2, 2022) – Tournament officials announced today the 24 players who will compete in the 2022 QBE Shootout. The tournament will be held December 7-11 and will celebrate its 22nd year at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón.
For the first time in QBE Shootout history, the field will include two LPGA players — Nelly Korda, the 4th ranked player in the world and Lexi Thompson, ranked 7th in the world. Thompson has competed in the Shootout five times since 2016. Her best finish is a T4 with Tony Finau in 2017. Korda will be playing for the first time.

These proceeds will stay local and benefit non-profit organizations committed to assisting those affected by Hurricane Ian.

Headlining this year’s premier music experience on Saturday, December 10 will be 15-time ACM Award Winner Brad Paisley. Paisley, who has recorded 25 No. 1 singles, will be joined by special guest .38 Special with No. 1 hits such as Caught Up in You and Hold On Loosely. A 3rd act will be announced later this summer.
